Herschtritt’s (French, b. 1936) fifty year
body of photography is a study of our humanity. From his early career as a
freelance reporter to now, he captures the zeitgeist of his era through his
choice of political, social, and human subjects. His several bodies of work
include slices of Parisian life, views of Africa, and the Berlin Wall. In addition, Herschtritt’s portraiture
captures the atmosphere and bears witness to the artists, intellectuals and
politicians of his era. This exhibition will feature Herschtritt’s body of work
from 1960s Paris.
